I'm getting now 3 instances of a v154 error code on VAG-COM which i think is the recirc motor. Is that different to the flap position motor?

Though its strange as the heater only seems to blow hot which sounds like it should be the flap position motor?

Which one is easy to change and which one is the dash-out job? I tried resetting it via vagcom but channel 000 wasnt reconised.

I had the same codes. Dealer changed both flap and recirc motors. It was under warranty so that was fine by me.

The dealer did it really quickly and didn't disturb any of my MP3 player or phone wiring so I reckon that they did this without taking the dash out.

I think that there's a guide on here somewhere about how to do it...

The flap motors are V68, V70 & V71 IIRC.

Sadly its not a warranty job for me.

Reading the haynes book is confusing me as to what motor is where. It talks about the fan motor behind the glovebox but the main control unit for the distributing of the air, which must include the flap motor, seems to be a dash out job. There's no mention of the recirc motor.

I believe you only need to remove the glovebox to change these motors - there is a guide on removing the glovebox somewhere on here . . might need to do mine at some point although I am going to try having the flaps reset first.
