I bought a 2001 fabia yesterday, and would like as much info as possible. Obviously not what can be found in the manual but one question I would really like answering is how fuel efficient are they? After the manual screaming low emissions at me and the finding out my tax is £90.75 because the emissions are at the max, are they as fuel efficient as they say? How many miles to to the gallon etc (1.4 mpi Classic). Also it didn't come with a key tab for the immobiliser so howmuch would it be to get a replacement?

It dependsif you do town driving or more of a long run.

Round town 30ish depending on how much traffic you sit in this can fall into the late 20's.

On a run 35+

They are an old designed engine the MPI as it's the old skoda engine unlike the 16v which is a volkswagen engine so they are not great.

I much prefer the 1400 8v lump to be honest!

The Valver is ok, but more technology to go wrong!
