What is my vRS SE worth?

Featured Replies

The car has done 5000 miles and is immaculate!! but I want something else...

What do you think is a reasonable asking price.. I looking into buying an Audi A3, so I want a pretty quick sale but the I don't think I'm going to get a decent deal with P/Ex ing as the car is so new..

I've also been instructed that I will regret selling.. once you go furby you don't go back  or something like that!!!;)

Damn....had you posted this one week ago, I'd have bought it .

If i was to sell my Fabia, and its not an SE, just a VRS, id get a BMW 123d 3 dr...Very nice!

Ok Thanks DGW..

I'm selling mine and, bearing in mind that dealer's are asking £13k for examples with approx 10k miles on them I think we should be achieving £12.5k.

Who knows if there are buyers out there though!

Well if you are still interested in one in a couple of years, let me know. You have fine taste young man:D

IMHO 12.5k is a bit steep.

lol £12.5k for a car that is 1 month off a year old with 5000miles up.

Come off it this is a run of the mill car and its hardly exclusve 1000 out of the 12000 vRS are S.E.'s if it were say an R8 ora F430 etc then fair enough but its not Even the very hard to get Corsa VXR is plumeting in value used.

You need to ask yourself when you look at Autotrader & the Skoda UK how long have they had that car sat on their forecourts? Why isnt it selling?

There is a thread on Pistonheads where a Mini Cooper owner bought his car 7 months ago (old shape) and is now complaining that he has lost £3k in 7 months min, why did this happen well he paid over the top for it in the first place from a dealer and was fooled into its residual value and naively he forgot the new model was due out in a few months. Now the vRS Fabia 2 is scheduled to be out in May08 going by the Autocar et al, so only someone who really wants the old shape would fork out that much.

Good luck:thumbup:

So on the one hand we have Skoda saying "we haven't decided to make a Mk2 Fabia vRS" and on the other hand Autocar et al are citing its release in 3 months

If you can find someone specifically looking for an SE then I suspect they'll be happy to pay a strong price for it, however, as Welshy says it's not really any more desirable than the regular vRS. Follow DGW's advice and see what the average asking price is and use that as a bargaining point.

Chris

I would even dare to say that 11k is strong money for the car. Good luck though, it is a nice car and I just hope you don't regret it.

Network Q - Value Your Car

Please be aware that the price displayed below is an estimate only, contact your dealer for an exact part exchange value.

Estimated value of your car

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition: £9540

Average condition: £8690

Below average condition: £7650

There you go thats what its worth as a part x so if your selling it private then clearly yuou have to have an asking price lower than that.

What?? Since when is p/x value higher than a private sale price??

Interesting the Network Q site wouldn't let me get a quote for a 2007 Fabia as there were no valuations available ... presumably because the car is too new?

Chris

I have found Autocar’s predictions to be almost 100% accurate, but their timings to be very optimistic. So going on their usual form, I would guess there will be a new vRS but it will be nearer the end of the year.

I would think 10k to 10.5k for a private sale.

Just slightly off-topic but if you want an idea of how badly you'll get shafted...

I bought my car six months ago - done 8,000 miles and paid 15 grand for it from motorpoint.

I was offered 11k for it at Carcraft :finger:

Probably sell privately for about 12.5 to 13k looking at the adds in Autotrader, though the dealers still advertise at 15+

You'll never gain money on a car unless it's a collectors item :)

Exactly and given the Limited edition equates to near on 8.5% of all vRS's sold i.e. 1000 out of 12000 its hardly limited.

The M% Nurembourg 3.8 now that was limited a mere 50RHD examples....

Anyway clearly its worth what someone is willing to pay for it and how quikly you need to sell it & remember every month you keep it trying to sell it it will be losing value.

I will list in order the options you have of disposal starting with the option which will screw you the most financially:-

1. Cash sale back to the dealer (especially in Jan/Q1 & especially as the economy is nose diving & property slumping = people cut back on spending and keep their older car longer)

2. Part x with a say a peugoet dealer/non car make your selling as they have to them sell it on to the official dealer or if its old to independant dealers

3. Part x it with the same car maker

4. Private sale, but your going to get a lot of tyre kickers and weekends lost (depends on how much you value your free time).

Why are you selling again - to save £??? No way your going to get stuffed.

Ok I just put in the vehicle reg of one owners car on autotrader and 5000 miles excellent condition and they will offer £9,300 so expect that amount if you tried to sell it to a dealer for cash.

A dealer generally adds around £1,500 (more if he thinks he can get away with it) so he would try to sell your for “12.5K. I guess in his eyes that’s like a drop of £2.5K, which on a new car when purchased, isn’t particularly bad imho.

What are you after next?

Amanda hows the 123d going? Ave MPG and whats the motorway MPG?
