I thought I would join this forum as I am shortly to become the owner of the new

fabia stationwagon 1,9 diesel. Well that is if you call six weeks "shortly". Took a test drive a couple of weeks ago and was most impressed. I have probably read all the reveiws that have been written about it both positive, but a part from a lound growl we you floor it.I cannot see what all the fuss about noisy engines come from. My mate's new diesel SAAB is a good deal quieter, but it costs 3 times as much.

I have ordered a few addons, sport interior, electric, sun roof, parking sensors and the moving headlights, metalic pain job, darkened rear windows

As I live in Norway, road holding in icy conditions is important, even with winter tyres. The car performed very well and even impressed my son who is a BMW owner.

This will be the first new car I have ever owned. The taxes here are so high that a new cars costs almost the double of what it costs in the UK.

It is setting me back 248,000 Nok which is about £23,000.

Which is the reason why we have on average some of the oldest cars in Europe

Hello & Welcome:thumbup:

Hiya.

After a serious snowshower last Friday, I can report that the Octavia handles very nicely on ice, even on Summer tyres. (I know, but I drove to work on dry tar, drove home on ice, and the ice was clear by 00:01 Sunday.)

Welcome to the forum Halkei!

£23,000! And I though we were taxed heavily over here!
