I need a little advise regarding my 2005 Fabia vrs gearbox (31k miles). I've had a dealer look at it once before to be told that it is all 'Normal' but to make sure I would like to get people opinions

The issue is that when going up the 'box into 2nd to 3rd it occasionally knocks when going into gear (4th onwards is dead smooth); it sounds like solid knock but muffled because I'm inside the car. Now this can sometimes be heard if the radio isn't on and can always be felt through the gearstick. It seems worse when the car is cold, and I don't drive it every day of the week so it's usually been standing for at least one day when I come to use it. I've noticed recently that it seems to be slightly worse when there is some steering lock involved e.g when pulling out of a junction or onto a round about and then selecting 2nd, could this be putting extra strain on the syncro?

I'm certain that I'm not rushing the gears as I've made a point of slowing them down to ensure that I don't damage anything and I can change to 4th and 5th faster without any problems.

So do you think that I should question the garage's opinion and get them to look into it further? Does anyone know what these symptoms could indicate?

could be gearbox mounts.... my gearbox leapt off it mounts at 40k.....
