Just Visiting, But Might Stay

My first post, so please be kind!!

I have just sold my last car (Tuesday night :(:(:(:( + more), and suppose I should really think about getting another one.

One of the cars on my "Interested" list is a Skoda Fabia vRS. I love the fact that Skoda makes great cars - well built and reliable, which are cheaper than they should be, mainly due to badge snobbery. So all the better, I say - I fancy the chance of saving some money due to other people's ignorance. Skoda has a long and proud history of making cars, with a brief lull in the Comecon/Iron Curtain era, and it is great that they still hold on to their name, unlike some UK car builders who seemed to re-invent themselves every time they made a bad car!!

Anyway, the sting in the tail is that I would like to run the Fabia on WVO - recylced waste vegetable oil. I like the idea of using otherwise useless waste to run my car. I want to reduce my carbon footprint, but don't like the idea that running on regular bio-diesel or SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil) results in destruction of forest areas and increases in the price of land, pushing out production of essential food items for the most needy in favour of the most rich, so WVO it is.

Yes, I understand there might be problems - looking to join a Vege Oil Forum as well to discuss.

So, if all goes well and I find the right car, I may be driving in your area, driving on country lanes, foot to the floor, engine flying towards the rev limiter, passing other drivers and yelling "Climate Change Criminal" at them!!;)

Kind advice much appreciated.

Hello & Welcome,

Hello and Welcome.

By all means buy a Fabia and throw an old Mercedes engine in - it'll run on waste engine-oil, road-kill, tubs of margarine, recycled porn stars or old light bulbs.
