Things to clean whilst servicing?

Featured Replies

I've got the dreaded cambelt change due in another few months and am planning to do it myself (Haynes manual in hand of course!). I was just wondering if there was a list of things I could do whilst everything was in bits?

eg.

  • Replace coolant pump
  • Clean throttle boddy
  • Flush out intercooler with solvent stuff to remove gunk
  • Check and possibly replace clips on boost hoses
  • Check boost hoses for damage or cracks
  • etc...

Any more suggestions?

Thats what I meant when I said 'Coolant pump' above. I know it's usually not required, especially seeing as mine's only 4 years/ 45,000 miles old - but I'd rather pay the £30 now than have to take it to bits again if it fails.
