Front pads WITH sensors

Featured Replies

Hi all, a little icon popped up on Friday telling me my front pads were low. I have doen a little search and found a lot of people have gone for Mintex Extreme pads, do these come with the necessary conections for the wear sensors?

I'm not too fussed about uprating my pads as the car is standard and they seem good enough as they are. If there is an uprated option for not much more than standard then I'd go for them, but I would like to retain the wear sensors. Seems backwards to do away with a feature on your car if it has it!?

So, OEM is it or can I get something a little better but keep the sensors?

Ta!

mintex extreme pads can come with and without sensors. theres only al etter difference between the codes aswell iirc. im sure someone will be able to tell you which ones which though.

Hmm, I think I mighht have foubd them. MDB2401 seems to be OEM spec with sensor or MDB2041X look to be the Extremes, £60 good price?

I'm going to try and get these tomorrow, but I've just read on the TT forums that Mintex aren't going to be making Extremes anymore, something to do with EU regs

Just in case anyone was interested, the Mintex Extremes definatley DO come with sensors, I picked mine up from GSF today, will be fitting them tomorrow. The part no. is MDB2041 plus an X on the end for the Extremes. If you want them from GSF though they will have them listed as TTMDB2041X.

have you found much of an improvement with the new pads?

Well, I put them on yesterday and immediately they felt loads better than the standard pads, although these wre quite low, not sure if that would account for it. But while changing them I realised I should really change my discs too as they were a bit lipped, so I've fitted some new OEM spec front discs today before the old ones ruined my new pads!

I haven't really driven the car enough to get everything bedded in again yet, but initial impressions are good.
