Brother-in-law left ignition on whilst working in his Fabia, which resulted in a flat battery. After taking battery out and recharging it the car still won't start.

Any ideas what might be wrong with it???

It's a 2000 X plate.

are there any signs of life? Lights on the dash? mileage display?

if not... then check the battery is installed correctly... other than that... over to the experts... (VAG-COM)
