Yes well clearly not, but that's what it seems a bit like ! At low throttle opening and light acceleration, the engine surges up and down a bit and every so often doesn't respond at all until I kick the throttle down a little.

Any suggestions please. It's a 1999 estate with 70k on the clock.

Hi maybe worth looking at air filter and MAF sensor if car runs better without it plugged in then its the MAF sensor faulty.
