fuel filter pipe change

Featured Replies

Help!!!!!

I did my 60k service on my VRS and when changing the fuel filter, I noticed the clip on the pipe to the filter was broken.I bought a pipe from local dealer but it seems very tight to get the pipe out from the side of the tank.

Do I have to drop the tank to change this pipe or is there a way I can change it without doing this??

The pipe in question in no.1 in this picture..

or do you reckon i could put a jubilee clip on the pipe for now until I can get it to a garage/mates ramp??

Thanks for the nudge Ken, I couldn't get a jubilee clip to tighten up, off to the garage to get the pipe changed :(

Just in case anyone else needs this info.

My mate replaced my pipe for me by jacking up the rear of the car, onto axle stands then removed RH fuel strap, loosened the LH strap enough to be able to move the tank towards the left to give clearance to pull out the old pipe with a wire attached so we could then pull the new pipe back up.

The tank had to be levered over with a pry bar whilst I pulled the new pipe up.
