Chipped Fabia vRS insurance

Featured Replies

How much extra should I expect to pay in motor insurance if I get my new Fabia vRS chipped, based on experiences from others?

I'm mid thirties, clean licence and full no claims.

Depends who you are with. Liverpool Victoria don't charge for mods (apart from increase in engine capacity).

Oh and welcome :wavey:

Welcome Martin, as Jon said LV dont mind any mods except for CC increase of engine. Anything goes, and cost to you is zero.

As for the other insurers, it can be anything between

I am in my early 30's and have a clean licence, full no claims and Skoda Insurance wanted

Remember some insurers rate the re-map on the percentage increase that you get following the re-map. The main thing to take into consideration is that you should not work out the percentage jump from 130bhp to 185bhp as the car's BHP as standard is anything from 140bhp to 148bhp,therefore reducing the premium you pay.

You're right about the % increase will determine your premium increase. However, if you total your car how are the insurance company going to check that %? ;)

I put mine in the lowest % increase group (11-20%) when I was with DL although it was some what higher.

Now with LV so it doesn't matter but something to think about.

I agree. That's what I did when I renegaded my bike.

Didn't bother having it dynoed, so how could I tell the insurance company hoe much %age improvement there was? ;)
