As a long time VW driver (2000 Bora PD TDI), I've had my share of bad experience with their badly engineered parts (here goes: MAF, head gasket due to coolant boiling and loss, front window lifters, front radiator fans, rear and front axle bushes, microswitches in door latches...you name it). Picked it up today from a local VW garage - they diagnosed 2 failing tappets and slightly worn lobes on camshaft. All this under 100 thousand KM...time to say goodbye to this car.

Basically, what are Octavia's weak points? (that's why I wrote this intro). I hope they took care of dual mass flywheel and other problems. What is members' experience with this engine?
