Hello from Blackpool

Featured Replies

Having smashed up my last car I got the offer of a 1.9tdi slx estate for very litle money. The old car was a well sorted BMW 520 but needs must I thought. Got the car and first thing I noticed was 1000mpg! Well not far off. Bit of body repair and a vacuum and I'm happy. Have got used to the rock hard seats. Used the forum to get a good radio signal (5 live) and now just need to work out how to get rid of the airbag light and how to use the computer properly.

What car is it?

May be able to help with the airbag light problem!

Will have to double check my VAG-COM cable and software but believe that it will work with your car... im only over in lancaster.

Hello :)

Hiya. The "silly" mpg figure looks like the trip computer's set to "spot mpg". It's not immediately obvious if you just sit in the car and drive, but there's a rocker switch on the RH column stalk to set something more useful, like time of day, available fuel range, or average fuel consumption modes.

I've just come in from work and am amazed at the friendliness of you guys. Thank you. Phil, let me know re Lancaster. I get that way quite often. Once again thank you.

Robert

Are you a real gangster, or do you just nick tokens off the kids on the pleasure beach?

Wellcome to the Blackpool crew or is that the Lancs Mafia:thumbup:

Ha, it's a relic from school days, no criminal connections I'm afraid.
