Replacement Fog Light Bulb

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me with changing the front fog light bulb on my 56 Plate Octavia Vrs?

Went out this morning in the fog, put my fog lights on and one of the bulbs has blown!!

Ive bought a replacement bulb but don't know how to fit it. Ive had a quick look and dont know whether to tackle it from the front or the rear. If its done from the rear, how do you get at it? Help please. :)

Does it not tell you in your manual?

Ive looked in the hand book that came with the car and theres nothing in it about changing the fog light bulbs. It just says if its not in the handbook then take it to your dealer. (That sounds a hassle and expensive!!)

Is it an A4 or an A5? On the A4, you can (in principle anyway) reach a cover between the headlight and the indicator. Undo this, and you'll have access to the back of the light, which is similar to the headlight. Pull off the plug, release the clip and remove the bulb. Refitting is the reverse of removal.

Thanx Ken Oneill, its an Octavia vrs MkII, (dont know if thats an A5?) The fog lights are round and there is a colour coded trim around the fog light which looks as though it may come out. However I dont want to damage it trying to get it off if it doesnt come off. I think it is a different set up to what you've described.

That's an A5, and I've no idea I'm afraid. There are some cars (and I honestly don't know if this is one of them) where getting at bumper mounted lights to change the bulbs means taking the bumper off. :thumbdwn:  :(

Thanx Ken O'Neill, thats what I was thinking. What a chew on just to change the bulb. Looks like a visit to the dealer then!!:(. How much!!!

can you take centre lower grill out (black)?? If so you might be able to reach behind lamp then??
