Just got my insurance sorted, £322 including chip change!!! Quite happy with that, i think the chip change added about £50 to the bill from what I could deduce by buggering around with the online quote system...

Sorry - I mean insured with non standard engine management chip, ie it has been modified with a remap.

Hi Dufflecoat who was that with. I am considering a remap for my 2.5tdi but the thought of the insurance hike is putting me off

Its with Liverpool Victoria, never used them before, but they must have adjusted their insurance profile recently and I fit!

Interesting. I am with LV, and have a remapped Octavia, but I thought they ceased insuring remapped cars a few years ago except for some existing customers.

I've recently renewed my insurance too and it's £183 plus £22 for no claims discount protection and £24 legal assistance.

Not bad for an 07 2.5! But I suppose I've my age, occupation and location on my side!

One of the scourges of Greek roads are abandoned motorcycles. Hi! I'm in need of some help please. My Octavia estate sat for 8 months unused. The battery went flat (AGM Varta) and doesn't charge. I got the car started with a different battery and then swapped in the dead battery to see if it would start charging. BUT, now the engine was running I needed to move the car a bit and found that the gear stick won't go into reverse gear. It can select 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not reverse. I've ordered up a new AGM battery (due in a couple of days) but this reverse

Hi Everyone, I have been investigating how I can replace the decorative trim pieces on the console of the O4 (see attached picture (version I would like). The easy part has been figuring out the general part numbers, however I get stuck on the specifics. I know the O4 has two technical variants; one with stock leds and one with RGB leds, and that there is a multitude of different codes for all the different colours/textures. This might be just a coincidence. But I have just had a new windscreen fitted following a rock being thrown up by a lorry's wheels hitting it, which left a small chip, which after a few days became a long crack and was growing. The screen was replaced last week, and yesterday I discovered the seat was not responding to the controls. I cannot see any fuse listed in the owner's manual which states it supplies power to the seats. The driver's seat is working as usual, which made me think it must b
