Replacement key for Elegance 1.8T 53 plate

Featured Replies

Being a berk, I misplaced my keys at work yesterday. I am 99% sure they werent taken so dont wish to go down the nightmare route of having everything replaced (house/work etc)

However, how do I get a new key, what sort of costs am I looking at , and should I get it done on the insurance?

Cheers in advance fellas

Hello

I asked Skoda for a replacement for my key coded Fabia (no remote) and they quoted me £40. Problem is I think you need to get the car to Skoda so that they can marry the chip in the key to the immobiliser code in the car. Not sure of the cost of that...

Your best bet is to buy a key from eBay and see if there's anyone in your area with VAG-COM who would code it in for you. Just make sure the key is intended for a Mk1 Octavia as some of the later ones can't be used.
