Anyone exprienced this? Looks cracking value starting at under 15K for a 140 mph car.Economy and emissions look o.k too:) Offering 0% finance as well so yet another car to consider when I think of replacing my Fabia VRS next year.

I test drove a new 1.8TFSI Octy (before ordering an RS 2.0 TFSI Wagon, in Australia). Great engine, but the std seats, suspension and level of kit were not as good as in the RS (and as you say, nowhere near the price, either). IIRC the new 16 valve petrol turbo 1.8 engine was developed for Audi use, and seems to be the "next generation" of TFSI engines (chain drive to cams, excellent low-down torque, good mid and top-end power, good economy, quiet, smooth).

As an aside, has anyone else noticed that VW has started playing silly bugggers with their engine acronyms ? "TSI" was originally used on the 1.4 "twincharger"engine that had both a supercharger AND a turbo, but lately it has been appearing on FSI and now also TFSI engines it seems. :thumbdwn:

Not only that, but the 122bhp 1.4 TSI is not twincharged, just a regular turbo petrol engine.

From the specs, the 1.8 TFSI sounds great. I'm not a huge fan of the sports seats, or the silver dash trim on the Octi2, so this works great for someone with my taste.

If it can be ordered with DSG then that makes this a killer deal, like the GT vs GTI for the Golf.
