Internal width

Featured Replies

hi

our 53 reg octavia estate is sadly not wide enough now we have two car seats in for toddlers. even a skinny bloke like me can't sit between them. anyone know how much width internally you gain from going to the newer octavia or a superb. do not want to change to a people carrier! I'll probably have to go to a dealer and try this out but if anyone has any wisdom on the subject please let me know.

We measured a new octavia and it was about 2 inches wider inside than the Mark I, but you gain almost nothing in the centre seat in the back - it's all elbow room at the sides. I don't know about the Superb.

We looked at VW Touran and that isn't any wider. I think you would need to look at a Honda FRV or Fial Multipla to get real extra width.

We end up with one kid in the back and one in the front and the wife sits in the back (and my daughter turns the radio on and off with her foot...)
