First fault repair 1.9 tdi

Featured Replies

Hello

Today is a momentous day, as my wife's 1.9 tdi has it's first fault repair, a coolant temperature sensor. The car is almost 6 years old and we have owned it for 2 and a half. I have never been happier. It has 80000 miles on it and I was used to Peugeots before. As you may imagine at 80000 miles a Pug was slightly more worse for wear.... So I thought I should honour this occasion. However, I discovered a noise I'm not happy with (see clatter at 3000 rpm). I'm hoping it's something silly, as it has turned out to be in the past. Fingers crossed. And to any of you thinking of a Skoda, I have done very well. Even my wife thinks so!

I thought it was a momentous day. Thanks for help with my other troubles.

Is the "clatter" when hot or cold?

Top end clatter?

loose engine mount - the offside one need to be moved when the cambelt is changed.

I think it clatters at all temps. It nearly seems to be under the driver, I can't hear it from outside. It clatters when moving and stationary, at somewhere between above 2500 rpm and above 4000 rpm. This figure is floating. Sometimes it happens easily, sometimes you have to rev it uo a bit. It sounds like something 'takes off' and clatters at a certain rev
