Featured Replies

Just messing around with Vag-com, found the following faults:

00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30

36-10 - Open Circuit - Intermittent

01177 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs

37-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

Any comments? 2000 1.6 Octavia 1.6 GLXi

From another forum (fixed the guys problem);

Check the stupid little fuse box on top of the battery. All the fuses for the ABS system are on that fuse panel on top of the battery. There's also a connector on the right hand side of that fuse box(again ontop of the battery) that sometimes comes loose. Especially if the battery was replaced recently

Had the same codes and after finding out that 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 basically means the ABS is not getting power and searching for fuses for the ABS system the bentley points me to ..... Fuse panel on the battery. Since I had just replaced the battery it made perfect sense.

So check that out. Since she just bought the car chances are some moron did an inspection or changed the battery and loosened the plug on the fuse panel.

First one is very common and often caused by disconnecting battery.

Second one is hidden because you need to register the software. You may also have more that are being hidden.

And;

Check the fuses on top of the battery and the plug that is pushed up into the carrier from behind, in front of the air cleaner. I have seen the fuses develop hairline cracks that only show if they are unbolted and checked. Also check the three green push in fuses.

Before you go to all the hassle of checking fuses clear it off and see if it comes back.

I really don't think it's anything to worry about.

Have you had a problem with your key/immobilizer lately?

01177 - Engine Control Unit

65-10 - unauthorized - Intermittent

Thanks guys - in a new job around the corner so most drives are only a mile or so (when weather is bad), so lots of cold starts and short journeys. Other day battery dipped so low that trip computer reset - so that may be the cause of the faults. Will try clear faults and see what happens from there.
