series condensation mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

My 2005 VRS hatch gets a ridiculous amount of condensation on the windows to the point you need wipers on the inside not out,i have also found the boot carpet wet and the board underneath full of mildew is this a commom problem and should it be covered by warranty as if it is a simple fix i would rather just do it myself.

Dont know whether this will help, but I always knew when the cabin filter in the mundano needed replacement, the windows would be very steamy on this inside, aircon inc. recirc or not.... Might also be the drain off from the air con blocked, would be worth getting it sorted and 'dis-infected' as if its mildew-y then stuff will be growing!

Does your rear washer work?? if not the hose has come adrift and is filling your boot up when you use the rear washer.

I'd let the dealer do it, as something could need re sealing, and if it is your washer pipe, I'd still let them have the hassle of taking off the rear panel. When you get it back then if it rattle's it's there fault :)

An extremely good point Kenny and a common fault from what ive seen on the octy`s

Mine did the same and i didnt know why it was getting so damp inside and it was only after finding the boot floor soaking did i find the cause, the rear washer

did still work but just didnt have quite the same pressure that it used to, i didnt really think anything of it at the time

If you do check this out shunter you will need to remove the CD changer to get to the offending pipe properly

there is another option as well. pretty simple to fix.

it could be the air conditioning system which constantly uses the air from inside the cabin instead of the fresh air feed from outside. basically it is like doing recirculation at all times.

it could be caused by the blockage of the switching plate which opens to intake the fresh air feed or closes the system for recirculation regime. sometimes it blocks in closed position and causes internal condensation.

hope it helps
