Electric window conversion to octy 1

Featured Replies

Hi there.

I have an '99 MK1 Octavia TDi with wind up windows. I have striped a scrap octavia of its electric windows and door cards etc.

Does anyone know whats involved in wiring them??

they need power at the very least as there is no fuse or cables run to each door.

Do i just need to run power from the fuse board to each door?

Thanks:-)

Hiya.

This is a non-starter unless you got the "convenience module" out of the driver's door on the other car. Frankly, I suspect it would be easier (but not easy cos no-one else will have done it) to repaint that door.

Meantime, try using the site search facility and see if you can prove me wrong! ;)

Hi Ken, thanks for the help.

the convenience module is under the dash. do you recon mine wont work without the one from the donor car??...which has been crushed!:(

all the wires coming from the window have wires to meet in the plug at the door.

thanks

Hello :)

From my understanding, the convenience module from the "keep fit" cars is different to that in the others. The electric window controls include 1-touch up/down on the driver's controls for both fronts, limit sensors, and "don't strangle the kids with the window" sensors.
