Wing Mirror glass

Featured Replies

Some plonker smashed into my wing mirror and amazingly just the actual mirror glass is broken.

The local (deepest south west France) dealer has quoted me €352 for just the mirror. I make that out to be £250

Please can anyone help me out with a part number ? The model is a 2007 L&K.

Thanks Rowena

Does your car have the auto dimming door mirrors? they changed the UK L&K spec and dropped them from cars built Feb '07 onwards. Does the glass have a plastic frame around it or is it glass right to the edge?

If it's an auto dimming type then be prepared for open wallet surgery.

Thank you for the response.

Yes to the plastic frame and I dont know about the autodimming how can I find out ?

If the glass part of the mirror has a thin black plastic frame it will be the auto dimming type.

If you make the interior mirror darken by covering the forward facing daylight sensor the passenger mirror should go dark like the interior unit. If this is the case the glass will be VERY expensive as it's an LCD type of dimming system.

my suggestion would be to see if you can replace it with plain glass (without auto-dimming) as it is a feature you can live without. the auto dimming mirrors are very expensive.

This is I think the best plan.

The auto-dimming is great for motorway driving but is it worth £250 ?:(

The later L&K's have blue tinted door mirror glass - this replaced the auto dimming glass (In the UK; perhaps it's not the same in France?)
