Bought a roomster 1.9 Diesel a year ago. It ran out of washer water, without any warning light coming on. I then checked the oil, and it only had oil on the tip of the oil stick, less than 5mm. With no warning light coming on. Do you think any damage may have occurred to the engine and do you think at this level the warning light should have come on?

iirc there is no warning about washer levels in the roomster. i know my scout didnt have one any way. as for the oil, does your oil light come up when you turn the ignition on? if it does then theres no worry about the oil, it wouldnt have gone enough to damage anything. just top it back up and keep some spare in the car and check every month or so. the TDi engines can use a small amount of oil, so its normal really.
