Hi , I'm new to forums please excuse any errors.

i drive a 2001 1.8t 4x4 i have had brilliant use out of it but have just encountered a problem. the engine management light keeps comming on and stays on sometimes for hours, but then goes off and may not come on for days. .

today it came on again and having stopped i could not restart the engine, until i let it cool for about 15 minutes it then fired up.

Ps the car has covered 90,000 miles

as anyone encountered a similar problem ?
