It's mostly your fault

Featured Replies

Hi there you all.

I looked at and tested Citroen C4 1.6 HDI, Volvo V50 1.6 HDI and Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI and also a Superb 1.9 TDI. The C4 is very comfortable, but a bit small, espacially in the back seat and the boot. The same goes for V50. The Octavia is a bit longer and not as cramped in the back seat and the boot is a lot larger. I liked all three of them though. In order to find out how satisfied peoaple are with their cars I started reading pages after pages of different forums. Both the C4 and the V50 fell through quickly though as there were lots of people that were unhappy in their choice of car.

Most Octy owners that are memebers of this forum seems satisfied with their cars. That was what made me decide on an Octy. I have ordered a satin grey Octy Estate 1.9TDI DSG Elegance with power driver seat, auto dim mirrors, duo onyx interior, webasto, extendable dividing net, audience, xenons, cornering fog lamps, mud flaps front and rear, PTC and removable tow bar.

I blame you all for this. It is your fault I have to wait impatiently 10-11 weeks for my new car.

Welcome and a good choice :)

sounds great, welcome along

Welcome and good decision. I did a similar thing, I looked at a Mondeo ST155 (2.2 TDCI, 150 bhp) and a Vectra 19.cdti (150 bhp). Looking at reader reviews at whatcar.co.uk, 50% of owners/drivers were unhappy. I compared that to Octavia owners where about 90% said they were happy.................

Welcome :)

Listing a Webasto as an extra, you obviously do not live in the UK :)

No, I live in Norway. Here the webasto is extra, though it should have been standard due to the cold weather we have here. I do live on the coast though so it is not as cold as inland where it can drop to as low as -30C.

Welcome to the forum

............good choice btw :)

My new Octy was ordered from Lecab in Karlstad. I will be cruising in a swedish car in Norway.

Considering the prices of new cars in Norway I can understand you (the difference must be at least £10,000 on a car like yours?)

But don't you have to pay Norwegian taxes when importing (if you are a resident in Norway)?

Hiya. Similar experience except that I didn't even set foot in the C4. I'd driven a Xsara Picasso, and hated the central digital speedo!

I do have to pay norwegian taxes for the car, about £12.000, but I still save about £5.400.:)

The car prizes in Norway are incredibly high:eek: , so high that am seriously considering moving out.
