Tires wearing on the inside?

Featured Replies

Got new tires for the rear yesterday some Goodyear Eagle F1's:cool:, but today noticed the fronts have worn on the inside?, the car has had a helix clutch in and had been taken apart and rebuilt (dont know what is involved? shafts out maybe:confused:, but since then the steering has been off (driving to the left) and the steering wheel is no longer striaght, i planned to get the tracking done after my next service (1000 miles) and after the eibachs are on, i will also be fitting new front tires at this time.

Should a simple tracking sort out this problem or should i be looking for more? i dont fancy shelling out £175 for some F1's that will wear on the inside?

Cheers:thumbup:

Get your tracking done asap, that would be 1000 miles with your wheels possibly acting against each other.

The uneven tyre wear could be down solely to the tracking but more likely due to excessive negative camber. I've read on here its due to worn front suspension bushes, console or wishbone/bottom arm.

is this the uprated cupra bushes mod??

anyone got the part no.s as ill fit em with the springs, cheers

when i replaced my fronts recently (they were down to legal minimum) I noticed that there was very severe wear on the inside edge of each front tyre - but only for about an inch in from the tyre wall..

the guy at the garage said that doesn't look like tracking more the effect of booting it on a front wheel drive diesel engine....

so i never did get the tracking checked....

wonder if i should

bren

mine work like this until i had new console bushes... then they wore fine normally....

think the car might be bent

Who's the 'knobber' trolling all your old threads and posting ar$ehole comments Jase?? Maybe he has a 'thing' for you eh?? Maybe he's bent, not your car??

If it doesn't stop soon then some people will be taking a short break, that includes those offering comments like those above.

If you have a problem with each other be real men and sort it out properly or drop it.

Sorry Boss:thumbup:

Its just that it was going on for while without anything being done about it.:(

It only gets sorted when it's 'seen', we don't read all posts so if there is an issue emerging report the post and we'll nip it in the bud.
