ABS/TCS warning lights...vRS

Featured Replies

On Saturday when I was just pulling into the drive, both my ABS and TCS warrning lights came on, the lights all dimmed and the engine started mis-firing. I turned it off, then back on again...same problem, but it then cleared when I tried again and has been okay since, however I have noticed that when I switch the engine on, both of the warning lights stay on for about 1 second before going off, but the car is running fine :confused::confused:

Any one got any ideas ???

Just been to garage and had it checked out and the following fault codes were stored...668 and 562...both relating to low voltage.

Battery was checked and is okay, but it looks as though alternator is on it's way out :eek:.

Anyone got a spare kicking around in a garage or recommend anywhere local to West Yorks where I can pick one up cheap ??....cheapest quote so far is £124 + vat :thumbdwn::thumbdwn:

(it's the 90 amp variety)

£98 at GSF Car Parts, cheap car parts direct to you (not sure if that includes VAT). Other option would be to try a breakers yard, but I'm not sure what the average life expectancy of the alternator is....
