Fabia 402 cassette radio

Recommended Posts

hi,

i would appreciate nyones help please.

for some reason, i must have pushed 1 of the wrong buttons on the radio, all it keeps doing is scanning.

i have looked in the radio manual, tried as they say, to store the strongest channels, at the moment only 1 is stored, i select the numbers from 1-6 on the radio, it then scans and comes to a station, do i have to manually store each station ?

i keep getting stations and then losing them, its driving me crazy, as you have gathered by now i am not a radio or gadget type of person.

is there an easy guide to setting these radios up ?

i am trying to setup on the FM1 range, is this right ?

many thanks

Yes, you have to manually store each station.

When the scanner stops on a station which you want to keep, press the push button of the number 1 - 6 and hold it down for 5 seconds before releasing.

This will store the station to that particular push button.

Fill up FM1 then transfer to FM2 and repeat......

Same procedure for AM band.

(Apologies for wrong icon selected in last post!)

hi, tried this, i push the buttons ranging from 1-6, it then shows STORED, If i then push another button and then come back to the original button which has stored the station, it comes up and displays that station and then starts scanning again.

i must be doing something wrong, can you please give me a detailed instruction from start to finish.

so sorry to be a pain, i cannot understand what has happened, the only thing i remember is i once pushed the large round button on the right, and since then it has gone haywire

thanks in advance.

Not strictly related to the above prob BUT my daughter has a 2002 Fabia (8v) with the usual Skoda radio/cassette player installed. She wants me to replace it with a Kenwood radio/CD player. Two probs I see with this:

1. The new unit is a 1DIN. Where can I get a 'surround' plate that will fill the surrounding gap?

2. Are there any code implications to doing what I propose?

Grateful for any help/advice.

1) Any specialist car audio shop. If not in stock they will order one for you.

As you live in Beds. try Autotronix, 206 London Road, Bedford, MK42 OPY

or:

Car Audio Direct has great prices for all car audio equipment and superb service. Highly recommended.

Tel: 01491- 825700

2) No.

I don't use a standard radio / cassette player in my car so I don't know the "large round button on the right" to which you are referring.

Try storing the stations manually again as explained above then when you have finished, check if you have a button marked "SCN" and if you have, press it ONCE.

If it still doesn't work, have you considered upgrading to a more up-to-date head unit? Alpine, Panasonic and Pioneer are the favoured units and the basic models are very inexpensive.

Call Car Audio Direct for more info: 01491-825700

2. Are there any code implications to doing what I propose? The original radio may require a code if you choose to sell or reinstall it.

Grateful for any help/advice.

See above.

It is possible that you've enabled a feature such as RDS or TP or whatever on the radio cassette. If it can't detect those features for some reason, it might decide to scan and look elsewhere.

hi, yes, i have tried most things now, have checked that RDS or TP is not on.

it seems that the radio is on a station for a while, then it seems to start scanning all over again.

i have noticed that most staions show the frequency it is on and also the number from 1-6.

it all seems to have happened since my battery went flat, a coincidence ? i do not know.

is there a suitable radio/ player which is easy to replace this.

thanks in advance.

thanks in advance.

This is the most amazing deal for a tuner/CD/ MP3 player I have seen in a long while. £70 rrp reduced to £39.

Brand new from a recommended dealer.

For some reason I can't get the link to work, so go to Caraudiodirect.com and find The Mutant head unit under "special offers".

ps If anyone could explain how to post a link on this board to a website I would appreciate it!

Don't forget you'll need to switch the power leads over in the connector and get hold of an aerial amplifier if you want to use an aftermarket stereo...

Your joking:rolleyes:

Take it an after market sterio in a skoda is not as simple as: Remove, reconnect iso and arial lead, replace..:D
