Oil leak - TFSI?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have noticed that the engine cover on my vRS (TFSI) is 'oily', especially by the two small rectangualr cut-outs on the left hand side by the oil filler cap.

I cleaned the area the other day, but now those two cut-outs are 'oily' again.

Does anybody:

A) know what I am talking about ;), and,

B) know what might be causing it?

BTW, car was recently serviced, so should not have been overfilled.

Thanks

R

It sounds entirely likely that it may have been overfilled at service but I could be wrong.

That could be PCV failure and i believe if oil is present in that area it could be. Take a look at the common faults section in the Octavia MKII section, you will find what is needed to fix. Apparantly it's not a big issue but having said that i don't have this problem so have never investigated...........Good luck..
