yup that is correct. Just slots in under the headunit and make it much tidier.

Mine has the cubby-hole as standard. It's the plastic strip above the head unit that you need to buy seperately. The standard head units are in between Single and Double DIN sizes (just to be awkward!)

You can just see it here if you squint:

Halfords sell an facia adaptor for a flush finish £14.99 WHAT!!!!

Do you still get the same gap then when you use the polo cup holders in the top along with the OE skoda adapter and fittin a std din stereo in the bottom???

:confused::confused::confused:

Not sure but I did try my headunit in both top and bottom slots with the OE adapter rather then the connects 2 Double Din one. It was slightly better in the bottom one as the top of the heater controls is beter finished than the top of the cubby unit but not much. Also it's much harder to get at the headunit buttons etc. in the bottom hole.

It looks messy now, but with a bit of cleanup I think it will look much better. Actually seems to me that the stereo has been pushed in a little TOO far, and you might be able to pull it out a little. That will make it more flush with the fascia adapter (the plate ABOVE the stereo) as well as the cubby hole at the bottom. I wrapped some black electrical tape around the top of the cubby hole to cover up the non-flush fitting cubby top and it actually works a treat. If I had a picture I'd post it, but you'd never even know it was such a cheap fix.

I know the Halfords fascia adapter actually surrounds the aftermarket stereo, but have heard it isn't the best fit. Best of luck with the cleanup, a little dirt removal looks like it would do wonders for that area of your dashboard. :)
