Do you have ESP fitted?

Does the light come on?

If you clear the code does it come back?

Yes, the car came with original ESP

The light on the board appears only when the system is working ( ASR when pushing throttle to bottom the light comes on, EDS when the front wheels are on 2 different surfaces in terms of grip the light comes on)

The ABS is working for sure (tested on snow), but I never experienced the selective breaking with the "click" sound of the ESP (not even on snow testing - maybe I wasn't pushing enough....)

It seems that if I clear the code it's coming back...

This error is often a bad earth connection.

Check them, screw them off, re thread the thread, and re mount them, add some grease after.

Thats Skodas answer, i work at Vw,Audi and skoda.

Best Regards Morten

Can you tell me exactly where to look for the ESP bad earth connections ?

Thanks

Just follow the wires from the ABS block, theres a brown wire somwhere, that connects to the chassis.

seems that it was from the discharged battery...

well more ESP issues:

I am positive that my ESP doesn't work

I have no errors on Vag-Com

ABS, TCS (ASR), EDS (EDL) work perfectly

The only one to blame is the ESP

What do you recommand?

Should I try a reinitialisation of the sensors?

How?

Details pls

Thanks

I have the same problem with my Ibiza Cupra TDI and I'm nearly certain it's due to trying to start the car when the battery was flat.

ABS is working fine, the traction control light flashes when losing grip but doesn't actually kick in. I can't seem to get the ESP to kick in either.

Anyone know how to reset the ABS ECU as I'm sure thats all it needs?
