Changing light bulb in rear light cluster

Featured Replies

During a check one evening around the car I noticed that on both right and left rear light clusters I had one blowen bulb in each one. the problem is that the bulbs are positioned under the red plastic, but isn't the brake or fog light. can anyone help me with some instructions?? PLS

Doesn't the manual say something? Sorry for the helpful remark. Try turning the black thingy with wires, and pull.

They are W5W wedge bulbs and they should just pull out. Check for any small black plastic tabs down the sides of the bulb fitting that may retain it.

You may change it to LED bulb.

Side light bulbs, s said just pop out when the tabs are pushed in.

Dont change it to an LED bulb. We've had a taxi just come in with a problem that whenever he uses the brakes his brake warning light comes on, becuase he's changed the brake bulbs to LED's as the normal ones kept blowing - means that there's less power going to them (LED's are efficient like that) and so the computer thinks it's blown.

Try grabbing either end of the black piece, where the wires are, so on the thinnest side, squeeze and pull.

You may change it to LED bulb.

Doesn't he need a resistor for LEDs? Because of computer...
