Millteck Exhaust fitment and design

Featured Replies

Does the rear bumper cutout require any cutting to fit a cat back Millteck exhaust?

What tail pipe designs are available?

Thanks

Steve

Don't think it needs any cutting. And as far as I'm aware you can only get twin round pipes for Milltek. Jetex do a single oval.

No, fits just fine.

Dunno on the tailpipes, but I think it is just twin rounds

No. It fits straight in to the existing cut-out. Only available in twin round (JET - I think is the official Miltek description). Beware of the exhaust going over the rear 'axle'. You need to fit it as far above the axle as you can otherwise it will catch and knock, very annoying. I used a standard rubber mount with a very heavy duty cable tie around the rubber, pulled very tight. This raises the exhaust above the axle and more importantly it keeps it there.

Hope this helps.

N.B. They sound great. Quiet in the car and just the right kind of noise on the outside!! Look good too. The left hand tail pipe is slightly shorter than the right one, follows the curve of the bumper, makes it look like a factory fit IMHO.

Exactly what I did to mannyo's one at our recent rolling road day. He hasnt said wheather its still knocking or not.

I had to do that with my Scoob to tighten up the rear mounts to stop the back box bouncing up and hitting the rear diff.

It transfered all the noise into the cabin through vibration so I had to remove it and get a big crow bar out

Does it make the same noise with the Tavia?

Steve

Ross, no knocking at all.

Bonus ;)

Rear axle, knocking and milotec exhaust! That will be why I had a bit of a clonking noise from the rear of the car at idle sometime back when the boot was fully laden with many rolls of turf!

Never happened since

Right it's fitted. I've got a 6x4 oval and it looks quite smart. It's not as loud as I wanted though so it looks like a sports cat may be on the cards :D
