12v Aux Socket

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does the Octy have a 12v socket in the cockpit ?

My wife is convinced it doesn't . She says you need to add the smoking pack to get it. I told her I think she is confusing it with the Golf Plus that we looked at.

Hopefully I should be getting my Octy 1.9 Elegance soon. I went to pick it up on the 1st March and the dealer rang me 15 mins before the collection to say there had been a fook up of monumental proportians. Despite the paperwork for the car saying Elegance it was in fact an Ambiente and nobody had noticed.

The good news is they have given me £300 back and a loan of a Skoda Superb 2.0 Elegance (57 reg) for as long as it takes them to get the correct car (which hopefully should be this Saturday 2 weeks later than originally planned).

Not sure I want to give the Superb back now though. Everyone thats seen it thinks its great ... leather seats, GPS etc.. etc ... ;-)

Maybe you should ask to keep the Superb instead?

........or maybe they want you to ask....

I was wondering that too !

They are supposed to phone today to confirm they have the car (they were supposed to have received it on Wednesday). Would have thought that they would have called by now considering how sorry they were to have messed us around in the first place.

The superb is a wopper. I mainly do round town stop start driving and to be honest its a bit big for that. Had to laugh on Saturday. Parked it in a multi-storey and despite parking only 1" away from the metal barrier in front it still completely overhung the footpath that had been painted at the rear. When I came back from shopping someone had parked a Smart Car next to it. The smart car only went back as far at the rear passenger door. My wife took a picture of it and I will post it here when she gets it off her phone.

What does that say about a big accident and where you'd be at the end of it?

Up there with these guys, I reckon! :orb_angel:orb_angel:orb_angel

Regarding 12v socket it to the side of the handbrake. But the hatchback is missing the one in the boot you get on the estate. Shame cos i really miss that one. Does anyone know if you can have one retro fitted or not?

Thanks for the 12v socket info. I thought it might be inside the ash tray.

I was just wondering for GPS usage thats all.

Shame about the boot one. I guess folks used them for plugging in portable fridges etc ??

Portable fridges, air compressors, inverters, spotlights all sorts :)

yeh I must admit one in the boot would be useful for my coolbox, as previously mentioned has anyone retro fitted one and produced a guide - thanks.

Actually putting in a cable is not to difficult. The problem is the mounting point when it gets to the back of the car. I'm not sure if there is commonality between rear side internal boot panels between the estate and the hatch - probably not?

The Superb has gone back and I am now the proud owner of an Octy 1.9 TDI Elegance in Cappaccino Beige.

Although it doesnt have any where near the torque of the 2.0l superb I think the drive is actually better and the steering is no-where near as heavy.

I'm also liking that in-dash storage that just happens to be the perfect size for mounting a GPS unit (Navigo) in it ! Just needs a bit of velcro in there.

:)
