Anyone ever heard of this? Trekka

Featured Replies

This is for sale on Trademe in New Zealand. Interesting!

The Trekka was the only vehicle designed and mass produced in New Zealand, Now almost forgotten industrial icon of the 1960's and early 1970's. Steel body with fibreglass roof, bolted to the chassis and engine of the Skoda Octavia Combi . I dont know what year it is yet. maybe you know? Motor is out,2 motors on the deck. no papers. there is a number plate. kiwi jeep, farm ride, museum piece

Looks like a shrunken Land Rover

very vaguely heard tell of one before. looker it is.

Rob, Rob, what've I told. :(

Stop constantly looking to upgrade.

You really do get things upside down ;)

Looks like a really cool vehicle. Would be nice with the top (probably fabric) shown in the diagram.

It's definitely calling out for a refurb, respray, re-upholstery :) and being put back on the road

Poor mans landy eh!

Saying that it looks a bit like an Austin Gypsy....

I've got a book all about these called The Trekka Dynasty. They didn't half get some stick for poor reliability etc, and theres some great bits in the book about how one disgruntled owner trailored his Trekka across new Zealand with big signs on it stating how unreliable it was!
