New Superb ECU / Micro-CAN VAG-COM

Featured Replies

I fully accept this is a fairly ridiculous question given that the car has only just been unveiled, but does anyone happen to be privvy to what ECU is in the new superb? Really just wondering if it's likely to be compatible with a ross-tech micro-can usb interface. The B6 Passat is, but current larger Audis don't seem to be.

I'm interested in buying VAG-COM for VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda cars - Micro-CAN - USB diagnostics interface (CAN only) :: Gendan Automotive Products for use with my Octavia II but will be getting a new Superb in September. Can't really justify the extra money for the HEX+CAN USB.

Have you considered buying direct from Ross-Tech?

The Hex+CAN will give you the best coverage.

If I had to be a betting man then I would say that the new Superb is CAN because I have seen pictures displaying the Columbus Sat Nav.

At the present time the real information about the Superb (chassis code 3T) is still hard to get. We have seen quite a bit info so that we can say it will be compatible to the HEX+CAN hardware but we have not seen enough details that we could say the same for the Micro-CAN hardware.

In this case it's not exactly a question of CAN support in general but mostly from who's construction kit Skoda has grabbed most parts. If it's bigger class Audi models the Micro-CAN would not work, if it's mostly smaller class parts then chances are good it will.

For now my suggestion would be to wait a couple of weeks more until we have more definite information for you or to get the HEX+CAN right away. ;)
