ecu problem?

Featured Replies

hi all. after reading quite a lot threads i'm sure i'm not the only person who's got problems with fabia's power steering. i've bought skoda fabia year 2000 1.4 mpi after a slight crash (it had a slightly damaged front bumper and one headlight needed replacement). my mate fixed all this but after that power steering light came on. there was no problem with steering for a couple of days though the light was on but later power steering cut off. then another couple of days later airbag light came on as well. i had a power steering sensor changed but that didn't solve the problem. i had a scan with vag-com done and you can see the report below. any ideas? please help

Have you tried to clear these off first?

Looks like someone has unplugged something with the ignition on.

It looks like that the power steering ECU has lost all communications, with that showing as the only non intermittent fault plus the lack of a scan on address 44 would confirm it for me. It could have lost communications for various reasons, a wiring fault, either for the power supply, earth or CAN Bus wires or an internal fault (expensive) with the combined pump/control unit.

Was the damage area on the left hand headlamp?, as that is where the PAS unit is situated.
