cleaning inside of wheel??

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning the inside of the wheel without taking the wheels off?? I have never cleaned the inside since new nearly 2 yrs ago!! :(

EZ wheel brush is your friend. :)

Get yourself a nice long handle wheel brush this wheel do the trick!:D

I use a radiator paint brush. It's cheap and cheerful.

Give the wheel a good soak with a decent wheel cleaner (Bilberry is excellent) then use a decent long handled brush EZ wheel brush or a Vikan will do the trick. You'll get better results taking the wheel off though.

I deliberately chose a simple 5-Spoke classic, so I can get my hand inside. I then push a sponge all the way round, past the calipers and then the back of the spokes. I finish by doing the same with a cloth & Poorboys World Wheel Sealant.

The back of my hands are scarred to ****, though

Only one way to do it

Very true, but you don't do that all the time (do you ). I'd say twice a week by hand, the you can deal with any tar issues before they stain the laquer.

No im not that sad!

Do it every 6-12 months depending on how bad they are as its normally washed every week so the grime comes off pretty easily

No need to take the wheel off!

Iv just had my wheels refurbed and resprayed. I went throught the long and painfull process of putting 2 coats of collinite on there and it was worth it! I dont even need to touch the wheels now, just foam on, rinse off, job done!

Sorry but I will have to disagree, I had one of the Megs Brushes and it lasted 5 minutes, the EZ Brush is a much bettyer brush in so many ways.........the bristle's restore back to their original position, you can bend it, it's longer, the bristle's are bigger..........

No they last a lot longer, I am buying more for my mates at the moment as I have been so impressed with it..............

Think i may have to go for one then!

The other thing with the megs one is that the rubber end bit came off revealing the metal bit! This used to scratch my alloys like mad! NOT GOOD!

Like I said, no problems with the Megs brush for me, can only speak as I find. But if the EZ brush is better - great . Got a link for one?

Yes a link to the cheapest place to buy them would be great!
