Tyre pressure is up

Featured Replies

Just checked my tyre pressure this morning, all normally sit at 2.15-2.2 but checked them all to find they ranged from 2.43-2.5 bars:eek: have i got tyres that generate air, rather than lose it?

My tyres are always done before the vehcile is moved so the tyres are cold, so i cant understand why they've actually gone up and not stayed the same or dropped instead, not that im complaining.

Same pressure gauge to inflate and check them?

Also remember your supposed to check the tyre pressures when the tyres are cold

always checked when cold and with the same tyre pressure gauge.

Might be a bit colder today than when you last checked?

If it was colder the pressures would be down.

Was it Sub Zero when you checked them previously.

You'll notice if one side of the car is in the sun the tyres will be a fair bit warmer than those on the shaded side.

As said colder = more dense air = lower pressure.

If the atmospheric pressure was low last time you measured and very high this time then that would potentially show an increase due to the force acting on the tyre walls.
