anybody ?

If you wanted a quicker reply, you could try posting in the Octavia I section.

Have a look for corroded pins in the drivers door control unit first. Throwing money at it randomly on a possible faulty convenience unit (which is in the dash behind the light switch) is not the approach.

I'll move this to the correct section.

If you try the search you may find one or two people have changed them already, and if after checking on the area that fordfan recommends you still want to change it the you could ask one of them.

i have had the drivers door appart today and sure enough the the large multi pin plug is well corroded ! can anyone advise me on where i can get replacement ?

is it the same part as fitted to any other vag cars ?

The part number for the plug is probably marked on it and if you needed to replace the wires then you can buy repair wires from the dealers.

Alternatively visit a scrap yard but to be honest the parts aren't expensive from dealers.

If getting a used door control unit, ensure that the part number is identical, that includes most importantly the last three digits. The part number will be on the control unit.

You have already saved £100 + by not replacing the convenience unit.

Indeed

If you are handy with a soldering iron someone on here actually hard wired the wires together and then heatshrinked em.
