superb interior

Featured Replies

Iam looking to buy a set of leather seats for a a2007 superb any idea,s where i can get some.

They very occasionally pop up on eBay, however with yours being so new you are probably better off getting yours re-trimmed by someone (seat surgeons for example)

Or try a breakers, although if a newish car is being broken the airbags may well have been deployed.

I looked into this last year, in the end i settled on Audi A6 front seats (full electric) the rears do not fit though without MAJOR work to them.

Were the electrics simple to fit? I have manual seats at the mo, but a set of leathers with electric would be good?

Did you do the same conversion?

All you need to do is provide a fused 12v supply (& earth) to each seat, the airbag plugs are also different, so i swapped them over from my seats, a very easy conversion, I also have the benefit of storage drawers under the seats.

I fitted them as i needed proper lumbar support which you only get with the electric seats and no Superb seats came available.

3B Passat seats should be a direct swap.

RS4 Fronts would be sweet :)

I take it that the memory function however doesen't work :P

Mine doesn't have the memory facility, so no, but I'm the only one who drives the car (99% of the time anyway) so it wasn't an issue.

Not sure where the control module for the memory seats is located, whether it has its own or shares another?

Have your own bolsters retrimmed in leather and forget all about full leather. I have it and it is b****y awful in this weather. It's painful it is so cold, great when the heaters kick in but until then dreadful. I will never have leather again.

I don't find leather seats bad in this weather, they are never so cold that I dread to sit in them - it doesn't really register & then I have the option of the heated seats but I only use this occasionally. My biggest concern with leather is in the summer when the leather is too hot to sit on either cos its been left ib the sun or just that it gets to hot sitting on them. I often use a bath sheet to cover the leather in summer but this has to be repositioned on a regular basis

I work really odd hours and trust me, when you get your rear end on that leather at 3am in 0 degrees, it bl**dy hurts! Unless I have a really low threshold for pain, which considering I live with 3 females, can't possibly be the case. I don't remember how much the leather option is but you are only supporting my point if you have to cover it in a bath sheet in summer! Leather and Alcantara would be far better IMHO.

I'll agree with that - never have seen the attraction of full leather seats. Apart from looking 'expensive' and smelling nice when new, they ARE expensive and not much better than the old vinyl seats from my first car when it comes to anything other than nice moderate weather. And even then, on a long trip they can make it all a bit too sticky around the nether regions;)

Mind you, I wouldn't mind the seats from an S class Merc - with little holes for the aircon to blow out of

I think they look way better than cloth and they are much easier to keep clean too. In fact, generally speaking they are way better visually and practically than cloth, it's only when you use them in the cold that it's a problem for me. I don't have any real problems in hot weather, mainly cos we don't get any but also the A/C is good. Because leather isn't as warm as cloth it doesn't pose a problem in summer after the initial sit down  but I would rather be burnt than frozen any day! In leather's defense though, they are way way better than vinyl, that sucked in every way possible, heat, cold, looks, just horrible.:thumbdwn:

Those of you that have leather interior's are very lucky.....................:(
