Wheel cleaning

Featured Replies

Following on from an earlier thread decicded to give the wheels a bit of a seeing to. Had all four off the car, rinsed down and cleaned with an acid free wheel cleaner, half hearted clay, :o and applied Rim Wax. Don't think they look too bad for a couple of hours work :) (and yes I know the rest of the car is filthy and the tyres still need dressing :P)

The fronts are Toyo's  the conti's have too much tread left for a tight **** like me to replace

Noway you can get in there with a wheel brush? I couldnt be bothered taking em off!

Oh yes you can...

If you can't be bothered taking the wheels off, a decent wheel brush and an old toothbrush works just as well.

Mine only come off twice a year to clean the liners properly, but otherwise always look well.

You didn't paint your 312's? For shame...

Wheels look shiny though. I need a trolley jack/axle stands before I think about taking the wheels off to clean them...

I get the following results with what's just left in the bucket after I've done the rest of the car ....

Total time 10 mins for all 4 wheels... so that's an extra 1hr 50 mins for a few beers and watchin the footie on a Saturay afternoon :P

What's tyre dressing BTW, is it like Salad Dressing

Tyre Dressing is something that makes your tyres look black.........there are various different types but I am using Megs Hot Shine Tyre Spray at the moment:

On a side not, Tom_vRS is organising a GB at the moment on DW for what in my opinion is the best Wheel Brush you can buy:

Detailing World

Motorgeek for a massive range of car care products and accessories

I have a few ordered and I would reccomend it to anyone...............
