New vrs owner

Featured Replies

Hi there

I am new to the world of skodas and have just bought a low milage yellow vrs octavia. My mate who comes on here says the car should have a new cambelt at either 60,000miles or every 6 years. My car only has 53,000 on it but is now just about 6 years old.Do i make the garage replace the belt or not as i have given good money for the car

Thanks

Hello mate, and welcome! Yeah 60k is about right for cambelt change, but afaik it is every 4 years. I'd defo get it done, also do the water pump at the same time.

Hello, and welcome, you`ll love your new vrs, I know I do. I would have a word with the garage to see if they can do a cambelt and metal waterpump in your purchase if it`s not too late, as it is 4years, or 60k intervals.

Want to see if you can get that done - will cost best part of £400 incl parts n labour

Maybe see if they will do for cost? ;)

nice one mate :)

hope you enjoy it!
