Wing mirror button..

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the part number/cost of the button to control the electric wing mirrors for a Fabia Comfort 16V - x reg?

Blooming thing just snapped off in my hand - off side mirror on the kerb - sods law!

cheers

Sam

Its the whole switch and you wont get one that looks the same, they have been superceeded to a different switch.

It's just the round button with L an R on - If they've superceeded the button, does that mean I'll have to replace the whole unit - or just another button?

Any ideas where'd I'd find the part number?

Pop the switch out and it you will see the inkjet printed part number on the reverse of it.

Would the part number relate to both 'bits' - the blue connector for the electrics and the body facia part?

Cheers for your help.

20306.attach

6Y2 959 565 E appears to be that whole unit including the blue connector bit. So you will get a complete unit. Not sure how much that will cost though.

Could I ask a favour and ask if you can post the busted bit to me when done? ;) Mine's broken too, but it's the clips on the trim which holds it in the doot, not the button. I might be able to mongrel yours to repair mine, or at least try. :o

The E is probably an uprated bit as mentioned above. :) Not sure how old my records are so there may even be an F or a G. :)

Anyone know of a place in Brum I could get this from? - resent paying 40 quid!

try 24/7 spares on 08713456247, you will get three quotes from your area, price includes p & p

Tried em - dealer was cheaper - 35 quid to 247's 43!

part in and working now - they've upgraded the part, so the left and right mirrors are seperated - thank GOD. The old way was really annonying.

Suffered from paddling pool syndrome in the passenger front footwell the other morning - stuck my finger in the famous hole under the bonnet and released a couple of litres of dirty water. Must remember to do it periodically to save wet carpets!

Ah the joys of Skodahood!

Really useful info as my wing mirror button has just snapped off today - the car is determined to fall apart bit by bit - it'll end up being the wheel nuts that are the only original parts left (well maybe the roof ariel as well unless some ******* yobs snap it). I've got the old style button which controls the L+R together with a separate L button so at least if I get the uprated part it'll be an improvement (and if it was possible to have this from the start, I hope the designer that invented the original button got shot). Cheers.

Forgot to add, how easy is it to change this yourself? I might be able to get the part from a motor factors and don't really want to pay the stealers half an hour's labour to fit such a simple looking thing. Is there much danger in knackering the new part/trim in doing it yourself?

You can get the out with a small headed screw driver etc, but you could mark round the trim.

Best bet is to take the trim off and push it out from the back.

Bit more off topic from that now.

Does the number not superceed to the one with the fold in mirror switch now.

There just making them all like that???
