Fire extinguisher fitted.

Featured Replies

Finally got around to fitting the fire extinguisher bracket this afternoon. Bought the parts from Skoda dealer before Christmas.

Had to take out the drivers seat and partly remove the cushion to drill two holes in the frame. Fairly easy job but now its done I don't know whether to keep it or put the extinguisher back in the boot. What do you guys think?

Does it get in then way when you get in and out, it looks like it will.

I dont like it there it looks cluttered and an after thought

I got mine in the boot as i have to have one by taxi regs.i keep it in the netted side compartment.

I think I might try it with a slightly small extinguisher and put the 1kg one back in the boot.

It is a genuine part (listed for taxis) but does get in the way slightly. Perhaps I'll leave it for now and see how it goes.

Here is another pic;

Stick it in the back.

passenger side? ive one i need to fit but i want it to hand.

in an impact could it not help pin your feet in that position?

There are two straps under the cover to hold it in the bracket.

It does look too baulky for the drivers side though.

That would get on my wick as I would catch it every time I got in the car. Would make a decent weapon though if you find yourself in a tight spot :D

Wasnt impressed with it in the front. Much better there

I put mine in the box you can see on your boot pic, there is even a strap in there for it.

Mine has a rectangular frame and a velcro strap for a first aid kit.

I'd want to keep it in the front incase you need it quick.. Agreed it looks a little wierd and seems to stick out loads there though!

Like you said maybe a smaller one on the passenger side that you can still grab easy and keep the main in the boot :)

The bracket that attaches to the seat is still in place so I'll try a smaller extinguisher there. Need to take the seat out and drill the seat frame to attach the bracket so don't really want to move it to the passenger side. The larger one will be staying in the boot though.
