New Record!

Had a nice leisurely trip down to Surrey and back over the weekend. According to the trip computer I got 73.9 mpg on the way down. Coming back wasn't quite so good, a creditable 68.8 mpg.

However, it just confirms that my trip computer is super-optimistic. After brimming the tank I calculated the average mpg at 59.9. Still a good figure, but nowhere near what the trip computer thinks. Isn't there some way of calibrating these damn things...

Yes there is :D Its called the fudge factor mod.

theres a guide in the vagcom section of this site

Mine is about 3-4 mpg optimistic.

I calculated it at 42mpg on one tank and the trip said 45.

Managed to get the trip reading 56mpg on an 80 mile journey yesterday.

This is the thread in question. Unfortunately it doesn't work for the 2007 Fabia vRS,

Anyone know of a fix/fudge that does work for the 2007 Fabia vRS?
