Rainwater in the doors

Featured Replies

I'm new here and to Skoda. I bought my first, an Octavia TSI, at the tale end of last year. After its first major soaking this weekend, when i opened the doors, rainwater flowed out of what appeared to be specifically designed outlets at the botto of the doors. Is this normal?

It is normal. You will typically see drain holes on most car doors.

Anyway, mine does it....so if its an issue I have it too!

A known issue is leaking door carriers, see here for more info.

It's all normal. The drain holes are there so that water does not make it inside the car. If it ever does, then do check the link in the post above as this would fix the issue.

AFAIK, the leaking door carrier issue has been fixed for a good while now so it's unlikely to be present on a new car.

The first time I saw this with mine, I thought the car was taking a p!ss
