Does anyone know how to remove the alternator? The bottom bolt will not come out far enough because of the viscous coupling. Help Please !

Either pull the front forward into the "service" position and remove the fan blades or unscrew from the rear of the fan bearing the recessed hex head bolt and push the fan assembly forward after removing the belt.

Another possible way is to cut the head off the bolt and replace it with studding and a nut. (I've not tried this).

Last one I did by rotodiesels method but I didnt move the front into the service position, can just do it in situ.
